III.Functional Description

Command value input:

The command value voltage can be applied directly to the command value input terminal 1,or it can be applied to the command value input terminal 1 through an external command value potentiometer using the+9V regulated voltage of the power supply unit.

Command value input 2 is a differential input(0 to+10 V)and must be used if the command value is fed forward by external electronics with another reference potential(e.g.from a PLC).

Ramp generator:

The ramp generator generates a ramp-shaped output signal from a step input signal.The time constant of this signal can be adjusted via two potentiometers for the up and down ramps respectively.

The specified ramp time relates to a 100%change in the command value step and can be approx.1 s or 5 s,depending on the setting of the jumper.Or when the attenuator is active,the ramp time is shortened accordingly.

With the help of the external contacts”ramp up/down”,the up and down ramp times can be set to a minimum value(approx.30 ms)respectively.

Current regulator with output stage:

The command value is passed to the current output stage via the current regulator.The current regulator adds the value of the bias current potentiometer to the value of the ramp generator.

The current command value is modulated by the clock pulse encoder signal.The actual current value is clocked like a constant current and a dither signal is superimposed in the valve solenoid.
