The NI SCXI-1121 is designed for a wide range of sensors and signal inputs that require isolation.The SCXI-1121 provides individually configurable isolation amplifiers,filters,and excitation sources for each channel.The module can capture strain,RTD,thermocouple,millivolt,volt,250 V,0 to 20 mA,and 4 to 20 mA current input signals.The SCXI-1121 can reuse its channels as a single channel for a DAQ device,and you can add modules to increase the number of channels.The module also provides parallel mode operation.
The SCXI-1121 includes four isolated amplifier channels with gains of 1,2,5,10,20,50,100,200,500,1000,and 2000,as well as four isolated excitation channels with voltage or current excitation.The SCXI-1121 also has a digital section for automatic control of channel scanning,temperature selection,and MUXCOUNTER clock selection.
The SCXI-1121 analog input consists of four isolated instrument amplifiers.Each channel can be configured independently using a jumper,with an input range of±2.5 mV to±5 V.Each channel contains a low-pass filter.

The SCXI-1121 functions fully when used with the National Instrumentmio-16.The SCXI-1121 can be used with the Lab PC+board in the single-box SCXI system.However,Lab PC+cannot control multiple chassis SCXI systems.You can use the Lab NB,Lab PC,Lab LC,and PC-LPM-16 boards with the SCXI-1121,but these boards can only control single-box SCXI systems and cannot scan modules when they are configured in multiway output mode.In this mode,the boards can only perform single-channel reads.You can use the SCXI-1121 with other systems that comply with Chapter 2,”Configuration and Installation.”You can multiplex several SCXI-1121s into a single channel,greatly increasing the number of analog input signals that can be digitized.
The addition of a shielded patch board provides threaded terminals for easysignal connections on the SCXI-1121.In addition,a temperature sensor for cold end compensation of the thermocouple is included on the patch board.This cold contact reference(CJR)is multiplexed with four input channels or connected to different channels of the data acquisition board via a jumper.
With the SCXI-1121,the SCXI chassis can be used as a fast scan signal regulator for laboratory testing,production testing,and industrial process monitoring.
