The MVME6100 EMERSON VME single board computer is the first VMEbus single board computer(SBC)designed with Tundra Tsi148 VMEbus interface chip,providing 2eSST VMEbus performance.The 2eSST(Two Edge Source Synchronous Transmission)protocol enables VMEbus to operate at an actual bandwidth of 320MB/s in most cases.The 2eSST protocol has been in existence for some time,but so far,the 2eSST board cannot work on the standard VMEbus backplane because the existing VMEbus transceivers cannot support the required VMEbus 2eSST signal speed.Texas Instruments(TI)has developed a new type of VMEbus transceiver that supports the VMEbus signal switching speed required for the 2eSST protocol.
