Product Description
The MVME5500 MOTOROLA VMEbus single board computer is a VMEbus single board computer based on the Motorola PowerPC 7457 processor, used for industrial control, data acquisition, communication and other applications.
feature
MPC7450 series PowerPC processor(1 GHz)
512 KB on-chip L2 cache and 2 MB L3 cache
AltiVec Coprocessor for High Performance Computing Applications
Two sets of welding flash memory
Dual independent 64 bit PCI bus and PMC site
The Motorola MVME5500 series VMEbus single board computers are designed to meet the needs of OEMs,including those in the defense and aerospace, industrial automation, and medical imaging markets. If the customer wishes to update their application with technology while maintaining backward compatibility with existing VMEbus infrastructure, they can upgrade to the MVME5500 series and leverage enhanced performance features.
The MVME5500 uses an MPC7457 processor running at a frequency of 1 GHz,making it ideal for data intensive applications.MVME5500 not only provides better processor performance; It also provides balanced performance for processors, memory, dual independent local buses, and I/O subsystems.
The powerful Marvell system controller supports 133 MHz host bus and 133 MHz SDRAM memory bus, perfectly matched with high-speed processors. To match system I/O with excellent processor performance, the MVME5500 offers dual 64 bit,33/66 MHz PCI buses. Each PCI bus has a PMC site that supports cards running at 33 or 66 MHz.The Universe II VME interface and PMCspan connector are isolated from PMC sites on a dedicated 33 MHz PCI bus segment,so that both PMC sites can operate at 66 MHz.
The MVME5500 also provides a Gigabit Ethernet interface,a 10/100BaseTX Ethernet interface, and two serial ports. All of these add up to form a well balanced high-performance subsystem.
application area
The MVME5500 MOTOROLA VMEbus single board computer is widely used in industrial automation, aerospace, defense, communication and other fields,as well as embedded applications that require high-performance computing and processing
