IC698CMX016 is a control memory exchange module.It is part of the PACSystem RX7i platform and currently belongs to Emerson Automation,previously produced by GE Intelligent Platform(GE IP).This module is mainly used to provide deterministic data sharing between PLC and compatible devices through fiber optic networks using reflective memory technology.It is equipped with 16MB SDRAM,with a working voltage of+5VDC,provided by a power supply,and a current requirement of 1.8 amperes.This module needs to be installed in the main rack and connected to slots 3 or 4.It adopts fiber LC type,with insertion loss of 0.35 dB(maximum)and return loss of-30dB.

The communication interface of IC698CMX016 includes an LC fiber optic port that supports a transmission speed of 2.12 Gbaud on multi-mode fiber media with a maximum distance of 300 meters or 984.25 feet.The supported dynamic packet sizes range from 4-64 bytes(maximum network transfer rate of 43 megabytes/second in 4-byte packets)to 174 megabytes/second(64 byte packets).This memory module can communicate with up to 256 nodes per network and supports redundant transmission mode operation.
The front panel of IC698CMX016 is equipped with various LED status indicator lights,such as OK,PROFIG,OWN DATA,and SIGNAL DETECT.To use the functionality of IC698CMX016,it must be installed on an RX7i CPU with firmware version 2.00 or higher,a powered RX7i CPU rack,and configured using the Profile Machine Edition–Logic Developer PLC 4.5 or higher.
