　　The 1746-HSCE ALLEN-BRADLEY high-speed counter module is a high-speed,multifunctional,easy-to-use,reliable and durable module that can be used to measure pulse frequency,pulse width,pulse gap,and counting.This module can meet different application requirements and is widely used in various industrial control fields.

　　Allen Bradley 1746-HSCE is a high-speed counter module.This module is part of the SLC500 Programmable Logic Controller(PLC)platform.It has a bidirectional counting function,with inputs A,B,and Z compatible with the nominal signal voltage of 5VDC differential input and 0-5VDC single ended input,and a maximum input frequency of 50 kHz.It also has a limit switch input and four(4)open collector outputs.It can be configured to run in Range,Rate,and Sequencer modes.

　　Allen Bradley 1746-HSCE is a high-speed counter module in the SLC 500 product series.This module can be installed on any type of SLC500 chassis and directly onto available slots.It can be installed locally along the SLC500 CPU or remotely along the SLC500 communication adapter.

　　1746-HSCE is used for bidirectional counting requirements,motion detection,accumulation,and other applications that require processing of high-speed discrete inputs.This module is typically used in factory automation applications,but it is also very suitable for process automation requirements.The high-speed counter module can be configured to operate in different modes,such as range mode,rate mode,and sequencer mode.

　　1746-HSCE has inputs A,B,and Z,with a nominal input voltage of 5VDC for differential wiring and 0-5VDC for single ended wiring.It accepts a minimum pulse width of 10µs with a pulse interval of 4.5µs.The acceptable input frequencies for these input groups depend on the configuration mode of the module.When running in sequence generator mode,the maximum compatible input frequency is 50 kHz;When operating in range rate mode,the maximum compatible input frequency is 32767kHz.In addition,1746-HSCE also has a limit switch input,with a conduction state voltage range of 3.8-5.4VDC,9.4-16.5VDC,and 16.5-30VDC at nominal voltages of 5VDC,12VDC,and 24VDC,respectively.

　　1746-HSCE also has four(4)open collector outputs,operating at voltages of 4.5 to 10V DC(switch 2 open)and 10 to 30V DC(switch 2 closed).The rated current for conduction at 4.5 is 16 mA V DC,40 mA at 10V DC,40 mA at 10V DC,and 125 mA at 30V DC.

　　For troubleshooting and diagnosis,it has built-in diagnostic LEDs,such as CPU fault LED,fault codes,and error codes.It also has internal status words that reside in the input data file.It is suitable for use in industrial environments and must be installed in a NEMA rated enclosure.
