1746-HSCE is a high-speed counting module.This module is part of the SLC500 Programmable Logic Controller(PLC)platform.It has bidirectional counting and standard signal voltage 5VDC differential input compatible with inputs A,B,and Z,as well as 0-5VDC single ended input,with a maximum input frequency of 50 kHz.It also has a limit switch input and four(4)open collector outputs.It can be configured to work in range,mouse,and sequence modes.
1746-HSCE is a high-speed counting module from the SLC500 product family.This module is installed on any type of SLC500 chassis and directly into an available slot.It can be installed locally,along the SLC500 CPU,or remotely along the SLC500 communication adapter.
1746HSCE is used for bidirectional counting requirements,motion detection,sets,and other applications that require processing of high-speed discrete inputs.This module is typically present in factory automation applications,but it is also very suitable for process automation needs.The high-speed counter module can be configured in different modes,such as range mode,rate mode,and sequencer mode.
The characteristic of 1746-HSCE is a differential line with a standard input voltage of 5VDC for inputs A,B,and Z,and a single ended line with a voltage of 0-5VDC.It accepts a minimum pulse width of 10 times and a pulse separation of 4.5.The acceptable input frequency of these input sets depends on the configuration mode of the module.When operating in sequential mode,the maximum compatible input frequency is 50 kHz,and when operating in range rate mode,it is 32767 kHz.In addition,1746-HSCE has a limit switch input with a nominal voltage range of 3.8-5.5VDC,9.4-16.5VDC,and 16.5-30VDC for 5VDC,12VDC,and 24VDC,respectively.
1746-HSCE also has four(4)open collector outputs,operating at voltage levels of 4.5-10V DC and(switch 2)and 10-30V DC(switch 2).The synchronous current level is 16mA at 4.5V DC 40MMA 10V DC,and the open collector output is 40mA at 10V DC.
For fault diagnosis and diagnosis,it has built-in diagnostic LEDs,such as CPU fault LED,fault codes,and error codes.It also stores an internal state word in the input data file.It is intended for use in industrial environments and must be installed in Nema rated enclosures.
