1746-A7 is an SLC500 chassis with seven(7)slots.This SLC500 chassis weighs 1.1 kilograms(2.4 pounds)and measures 28.2×17.1×14.5 centimeters or 11.3×6.8×5.8 inches.
1746-A7 is an expansion module of the SLC500 series.In the SLC500 modular system or SLC500 fixed system expansion chassis(1746-A7)and other components,a module is suitable for any single position except for the processor slot(0).
1746-A7 accommodates modular processors,communication adapter modules,and input and output modules.This chassis is constructed with 7 slots and is part of the SLC500 modular chassis,providing flexible system configurations.In modular systems,each chassis requires its own power supply.The SLC5001746-A7 modular chassis can function as an independent unit within a system or work with one or two local chassis.Chassis interconnection cables can be used to construct multiple chassis configurations and expand signal lines.This can create a total of 30 I/O slots at maximum.Vertically connect the chassis to 1746-C9 cable or 1746-C16 cable at different lengths.Both cables have a rigid,non bending shrink wrap for strain relaxation when connecting the module to another module.For horizontal layout,use 1746-C7 cables.Do not use any other cables during installation.Long cables may affect the integrity of data communication,leading to unsafe operations.
The ground connection from the 1746-A7 chassis to the ground bus has reduced resistance.When grounding,do not place one ear directly on the other ear.Compression will make these connections loose.The maximum backplane current of 1746-A7 is 5.1V DC 10V or 24V DC 2.88a.To achieve optimal performance,operate at temperatures of 0-60 degrees Celsius(32-140 degrees Fahrenheit)and relative humidity of 5-95%(no condensation).
1746-A7 is an SLC500 chassis that provides installation onto SLC500 modules such as SLC processors,SLCOO modules,SLC communication adapters,and professional modules.
1746-A7 has seven slots and can be extended to 21 modules by connecting the other two(2)chassis to the main chassis where the controller resides.We are using interconnecting cables from sections 1746-C9 and 1746-C7,as well as other interconnecting cables of varying lengths.Each chassis requires a separate power supply,but only one SLC500 processor is needed.The processor should be installed or installed on the main chassis.The expansion chassis is considered a remote OO rack.
The SLC500 is equipped with other chassis models,including 1746-A131746-A10 and 1746-a4.All of these chassis,including 1746-A7,have an embedded electronic circuit connected to the power slot.This circuit is used as a backplane,with power distributed to the insertion module.It also serves as an information exchange between processors and modules,therefore,the SLC500 modular controller cannot operate without a chassis.
