The redundant PROFIBUS Communication module(FBM222)provides the interface between the FoxboroEvo system and ProFIBUS-DP/PA dependencies,including motor drivers,I/O modules,and field I/O devices.The FBM222 can be used in a single or redundant configuration,and when using Repeaters,it supports two PROFIBUSlink with up to 125 slave devices per port.The FBM222 connects from the device to the universal and robust FoxboroEvo control system via a Distributed Control Interface(DCI)block.
There are several ways to connect the FBM222 installed as a redundant pair to the PROFIBUS DP network.When the PROFIBUS segment is a single network as shown in Figure 1,the FBM228/FBM222-Redundancy adapter(P0922RK)connects the single-ended cable to the redundant pair.The other end of the cable plugs into the terminal assembly(TA),which provides a connection between the two network segments.
