About 1788-MCHKR
This device is ideally for maintenance and troubleshooting use as it only require a single manpower to test different cables. This mediachecker device checks for split pair or incorrect pairing, miswiring, shorted and open wires on all type of twisted pair cables and Coaxial cables used for Ethernet.
The 1788-MCHKR is delivered as a package that is composed of a carrying case, One (1) resistive adapter cable identifier with a female DB9 connector, Interface cables and adapters, documentation and pair of 1.5VDC alkaline batteries.
This MediaChecker has a Two (2) liner, Sixteen (16) character LCD display. All information related to the device operation is displayed in this output interface. It also has Enter, Up, Down and Setup intended for user interaction and configuration. It also has a rotary backlight adjustment wherein backlight can be set to Turn On and Off or automatically after Sixty (60) seconds.
This device has Four (4) operating modes, specifically OFF, Test, Length, and Wire Map. OFF position deactivates the device, saving battery energy. Test mode examines the attached cable and evaluates the cable by providing a pass or fail summary. Length display the cable length in units of meters or feet and test for anomalies. Wire map is used to display wiring connections such as short and open connection or split pair.
